Nicole Hubbard is originally from Chico, CA. She attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where she earned her B.S. in Industrial Engineering. After trying a few jobs in the field, she decided she wanted to pursue work in education. She attended the University of Southern California and earned her Master of Arts in Teaching, with a focus on Secondary Mathematics. She then moved to San Diego in 2007 to begin her career in teaching at High Tech High International.
She spent many years within the High Tech High organization, teaching 11th and 9th grade math and 9th grade physics at High Tech High International ,7th grade Math and Science at High Tech Middle Media Arts. When she is not teaching or working, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family.
You can usually get her to talk endlessly about her hometown of Chico, about Cal Poly, SLO, about traveling the world, about Thailand, and of course - about math, engineering, science, and learning. She is an avid traveler who has ventured on many international trips with and without her students, and also lived and taught in Thailand for a year. She loves working with students and supporting them in their growth as mathematicians and scientists.
